My Professional Journey

With over a decade of experience in sustainable development, I've dedicated my career to creating positive environmental and social impact through effective project management and advocacy, particularly in the Global South. I'm passionate about connecting people with solutions that protect our planet while building sustainable communities!

At the heart of my work has been leading transformative environmental initiatives like the award-winning "Nuh Dutty Up Jamaica" campaign, which returned stronger than ever after a two-year hiatus during the pandemic. This island-wide anti-litter campaign received extensive media coverage in publications like Jamaica Gleaner and Our Today, helping to shift public attitudes about waste management across Jamaica.

One of my proudest achievements was expanding JET's Beach Cleanup Programme, where we mobilized over 2,000 volunteers, increased cleanup events by 200%, and removed more than 100,000 pounds of waste from Jamaica's beautiful coastlines. Our International Coastal Cleanup Day efforts in 2021 were recognized with the "Most Impactful Social Good Project" award and featured in numerous news outlets highlighting our volunteers' incredible work.

I've also written and directed environmental education videos like "Small Plastics, Big Problem," exploring Jamaica's battle with plastic pollution, and co-hosted a weekly radio segment reaching 10,000 listeners about the connection between plastic pollution and climate change.

My media presence extends to panel discussions like UNEP's "Gender Perspective and Experience on Climate Change and Waste in the Caribbean," where I highlighted women's critical leadership in environmental conservation, and international speaking engagements at conferences in South Korea and Japan (virtually).

My work with communities has always centered on making environmental stewardship accessible and engaging. Whether training hundreds of diverse groups in environmental advocacy, partnering with companies like Coca-Cola for beach cleanups, or supporting Jamaica's first local plastic recycling facility, I've seen firsthand how collaborative environmental initiatives can transform communities.

Recently, my contributions to climate action were featured in World Bank's 2024 story "Adapting together: A climate change journey in Jamaica's Cockpit Country," highlighting the importance of community-based approaches to climate resilience.

When I'm not working on environmental projects, you'll find me facilitating workshops for government officials on climate negotiations or mentoring young climate activists who are just as passionate as I am about creating a sustainable future for all!
